Held at London’s Business Design Centre in Islington, this year’s Innovate UK conference was a resounding success, which reflects well on the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and UK Trade & Investment decision to unite forces and co-sponsor the event for the first time.
The three-day Innovate programme included keynote speakers, One2One meetings, seminars and workshop sessions plus, on the second day, an exhibition with more than 100 participating companies and organisations. Ranging in size from multinationals to SMEs, the exhibitors showcased UK-developed technology in fields like robotics, energy, transport, high-value manufacturing, health, and digital services.
The TSB invited Cambridge-based AOS Limited to demonstrate some of our new developments, and Andrew Lucas (Group CEO) and Andy Park (Director of North American Operations) manned our stand in the Transport section. The AOS display highlighted some recent technical work by the company including intelligent live-fire target robots, the Rational Information Broker for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programme, the intelligent Watch Dog system (iWD™) for oil production monitoring, and autonomous flight in icing conditions for the ASTRAEA programme.
Despite the exceptionally cold and windy March weather, exhibition attendance exceeded expectations and the stalwart attendees were enthusiastic to a fault. AOS would like to thank the TSB for their kind invitation to attend and also thank Chrissie Chandler for her organisational efforts.
