Relocation of Melbourne Product Centre

DSC01809_10_11_tonemapped finalThe AOS Melbourne Product Centre has relocated to 580 Elizabeth Street. Formerly a boutique art gallery, this Victorian bluestone two-story terrace with baltic pine flooring offers a plush working environment with ample car parking. It is accessible by tram (the No.19 and 59 stop across the road) and train (Melbourne Central Station).

In support of AOS's research activities, the office is situated a stone's throw from Melbourne University's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, and 10 minutes walk from the RMIT School of Computer Science and Information Technology. It is also 25km from Tullamarine (Melbourne International) Airport, via taxi or car. Melbourne Airport has frequent connections to Sydney and major national and international destinations.

The Melbourne Product Centre houses the development and support of AOS's key autonomous agent platforms: JACK®, CoJACK™ and C-BDI™.

JACK is a mature implementation of the BDI (Beliefs/Desires/Intentions) paradigm, written as an extension of Java™. It has a sophisticated graphical development environment that supports the design, implementation and monitoring of BDI agents.

CoJACK is a novel cognitive architecture, based on JACK. CoJACK predicts how human behaviour varies as a function of the changes to the architecture’s parameters. It supports the definition of moderators that modulate these parameters and thereby predicts in a principled way how behaviour varies as a result of physiological and affective factors (e.g. fear).

C-BDI is an agent platform designed for the autonomous systems and vehicles market, which requires the product to be certificated to appropriate development and safety standards.
