AOS offers courses designed to teach new JACK users how to get the most out of the software. These are fairly thorough three-day events that give students an in-depth look at the JACK development environment and provide hands-on programming experience. There’s no set schedule for these courses; they’re conducted "as required" in locations that best suit the participants.
So far this year, our US office has organised two courses with a third already in the planning stage for September. The first course, held in February, was hosted by Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works and held at Adacel Technologies' headquarters in Orlando, Florida. The second, held mid-June, was hosted by the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) in Suffolk, Virginia. VMASC welcomed course attendees from Old Dominion University and Woolpert Inc., as well as contractors from the nearby US JFCOM (Joint Forces Command) facility.
Instructor for these events is Paolo Busetta, our Senior Technical Consultant – Europe, who’s based near Trento, Italy. Paolo has worked with JACK since its first release in 1998 and has been involved in the general field of intelligent agents since about 1990. Within AOS, he’s widely recognised as a go-to-guy if you’ve got a tech question – sort of a JACK-of-all-trades.
