The Australian Industry & Defence Network Incorporated (AIDN) represents the interests of over 800 Australian Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the defence and security industries. In the July/August 2011 issue of Asia Pacific Defence Reporter (APDR), AOS is highlighted as one of AIDN's member SME success stories.
Founded in 1997 as a spin-off of the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute, AOS has grown into the world's leading supplier of autonomous decision-making software. In addition to its Australian headquarters in Melbourne, the company now has offices in the US and UK. The Defence Department's Global Supply Chain (GSC) has helped establish AOS as a major supplier of autonomous decision-making to the world's leading defence and aerospace companies. As a direct result of the GSC program, AOS CEO, Dr Andrew Lucas, has been in preliminary discussions with Thales France and Thales UK. Due to the GSC program, AOS is now under contract to Boeing, Seattle.
