A new power player recently emerged in the UK business arena when the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC – AOS is a member), the Defence Manufacturers Association (DMA) and the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS) merged into the A|D|S Group.
Together with its regional partners, A|D|S represents over 2,600 companies and some 725,000 employees and their needs and priorities will be the driving force behind the new Group. One notable inclusion to the trade body, at least to aviation enthusiasts, is Farnborough International, the company behind the Farnborough Airshow. This is now a distinct brand within A|D|S.
Reflecting on the merger, A|D|S’s first Chairman, Ian Godden, called it an exciting time for the UK’s aerospace, defence and security industries. He said, “Bringing together three strong trade associations… will deliver stronger representation and higher quality events and services to our members than ever before.”
